Overview:

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  Windows Server - Active Directory - Exchange Server 2003 and/or 2007 - Linux Administration

 

The Systems Administrator III is responsible for providing installation, configuration, and support of hardware and software for servers, desktop PCs, laptop computers, productivity applications, local area networks, remote users, and Point of Sale servers and client PCs.



Responsibilities:

Primary Duties: 

  • Determines hardware/software needs of the user community based on user requested. 
  • Follows established procedures to order appropriate hardware/software.
  • Provides tier 2 and 3 support for the IT Service Desk as they support users of desktop and laptop computers. 
  • Leads small to medium size projects of up to 3 System Administrators on the project team. 
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and supports all TSC hardware and software. 
  • Provides guidance and mentoring of Systems Administrator I’s and II’s in all aspects of their duties. 
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems and issues with data center and store servers. 
  • Supports connectivity options for remote users including direct dial up, VPN dial up, broadband wireless (VPN) dial up, and VPN “always on” remote user access. 
  • Provides extended support for TSC stores and 24X7 support for Distribution Centers and remote users. 
  • Determines specialized hardware and software needs of “power users” and others with special needs. 
  • Installs desktop operating system and applications according to standards. 
  • Analyzes server needs for proposed software, suggesting particular server hardware configurations. 
  • Administers antivirus software, operating system and application security patches using established procedures and processes. 
  • Administers corporate email including Internet email connectivity. 
  • Creates and maintains documentation for configurations of servers and desktop systems as well as updating established procedures. 
  • Provides backup and recovery documentation and procedures for each server on the TSC network. 
  • Reviews and enhances the security settings and procedures in the configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance of all computers. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

 



Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; 5+ years of work in systems administration of a Windows network; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered. MCP certifications preferred.

  • Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products.
  • Physical, mental, and sensory abilities to use a telephone, calculator, computer video terminals, keyboards, and software applications.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends occasionally.
